This year, Citi Sri Lanka focused its volunteer efforts on the rural region of Waga in Avissawella, partnering with Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement to support economically challenged communities through a series of impactful activities.
Citi employees came together to volunteer their time and efforts in activities designed to address the communities’ urgent needs:
• Community Kitchen – Volunteers assisted in the preparation and distribution of meals feeding more than 400 residents within community.
• Improving Access to Healthcare – A free health screening camp was organized for the community’s senior population, offering medical checkups, consultations and wellness advise.
• Delivering Essential Supplies – Dry ration packs were distributed to over 100 families helping to ensure food security.
• Enhancing Educational Access – Volunteers supported a local school by improving infrastructure and distributing essential school supplies to students encouraging an environment of learning and growth.
“These efforts reflect Citi’s commitment to making a positive impact – globally and locally”, said Ravin Basnayake, Citi Country Officer Sri Lanka.
