St. Josephs Bandarawela launches special initiative to boost its talented students

The Batch of 1999 and 2002 of St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela initiated a special project under the theme of ‘Sisunta Diriyak-Adyapanayata Athwelak’ – ‘Empowering the Students’ with the aim of assisting the talented and deserving student of one of the leading schools from the Uva Province.

Initiated under the able assistance of leading alumnus of St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela, the Batch of 1999/2002 of the college launched the special project that would assist their present students.

The prime objective of the ‘Sisunta Diriyak-Adyapanayata Athwelak’ project according to the spokesman of Batch of 1999/2002 of St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela, is to assist students with their education endeavours as well as extra-curricular activities by offering them scholarships.


The special project was launched last week as the St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela Auditorium with the principal, members of academic staff, students, parents and old boys marking their presence at the occasion.

The special keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Priyanga Nalin Ratnayake, the Deputy Director of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, also a distinguished alumni of St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela. Mr. D.S. Kandawela, the former President of Old Boys’ Association of St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela was honoured for his service to the school at the special occasion.
