For the Sixth Consecutive Year Barista and SOS Childrens Villages Sri Lanka Join Forces to Spread Hope This Christmas

Barista Coffee Lanka and SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka proudly announced the return of their much-loved “Share a Meal” campaign, marking its sixth consecutive year since its launch in 2019.

The campaign was unveiled today at a press conference attended by partners from Barista and SOS, members of the media, influencers, and invited guests.

What began in 2019 with just eight cafés and a modest donation target has grown into one of Sri Lanka’s most recognized Christmas-season community initiatives.

Through the sale of affordable meal coupons, online contributions, and
islandwide participation, the campaign has consistently supported children across SOS Villages, ensuring they receive regular, nutritious meals and the stability of sustained care.

Speaking on the long-standing collaboration, Dilupa Pathirana, CEO/ Director of Barista Coffee Lanka, said,

“At Barista, ‘Share A Meal’ has become an important part of our social responsibility efforts, and completing six consecutive years highlights our continued commitment to supporting the communities we serve.

Our partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka allows us to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing and development of children in need across the country.

This year, we have set a target of raising 5 million rupees to further strengthen the reach and impact of the initiative.

We appreciate the continued support of all stakeholders who help us advance this mission each year.”

Echoing these sentiments, the National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka Divakar Ratnadurai added,

“We’re invested in nurturing our children with experiences that bring them happiness and good health.

Our partnership with Barista allows us to bring them moments of Christmas cheer to cherish as they grow.

Furthermore, the initiative demonstrates how positive and impactful change can occur when forces unite for the common good.”

To make participation even more accessible, Barista has expanded the campaign across its cafés, online platforms, and delivery partners, allowing supporters from any part of the country or world to contribute with ease.

In addition to these contributions, Barista will also donate 10% of all proceeds from its special Christmas Menu toward the Share a Meal initiative, further strengthening its support for children across SOS Villages.

As the initiative enters its sixth year, Barista has set an ambitious fundraising target of LKR 5 million for 2025, aiming to extend the reach of its support even further.

This Christmas, Barista and SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka invite the public to once again be part of a tradition that transforms generosity into nourishment, stability, and care.

With every meal shared, a child feels supported, valued, and uplifted capturing the true spirit of the season.
