This historic inclusion marks a significant milestone for Esports, bringing it alongside traditional sports at one of Asia’s largest multi-sport events.
Sri Lanka will be represented in multiple titles including Rocket League Girls, eFootball Boys, and Street Fighter Boys.
The team consists of W.L.A. Sayuni Sadushika competing in Rocket League Girls and M.A. Haiyan Aqwam competing in both eFootball Boys and Street Fighter Boys.
Their selection follows the official selection qualifiers held by the Sri Lanka Esports Association earlier this year.
The recognition of Esports as a medal sport at the Asian Youth Games reinforces its growing legitimacy and the opportunities it creates for youth.
