Mr. Arjuna Mahendran takes office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

Newly appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Mr Arjuna Mahendran assumed duties in his new post on Monday, the 26th of January 2015 at the Governor’s office in Colombo.

His appointment was made by His Excellency the President of Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, on the recommendation of Minister of Finance on 23rd January 2015 as per the provisions made in the Monetary Law Act.

Accordingly, he will also function as the chairman of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
