DFCC Bank Powers Faldo Junior Golf Pro Am 2026 for 2nd consecutive year

DFCC Bank is pleased to announce its association with the Faldo Junior Golf Tournament & Pro-Am, held under its sponsorship for the second of a planned three-year partnership.

The 2026 event will take place from 4 to 8 January at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), showcasing young talent and engaging DFCC Bank’s premium clientele in a meaningful sporting experience.

Last year’s debut in Sri Lanka saw over 110 participants, including outstation entrants and international players, with local champions like Jevahn Sathasivam and Kaya Daluwatte advancing to regional finals.

This year’s tournament builds on that foundation, enhancing the competitive environment for juniors and elevating customer engagement for DFCC Bank’s Pinnacle and High-Net-Worth clients.

The event opens with the DFCC Bank Pro-Am on 4 January, dedicated to the Bank’s high-end customers playing alongside junior participants.

Practice rounds follow on 5 January; the main junior competition takes place from 6 to 8 January, culminating in a prize-giving ceremony on the final day.

Thimal Perera, Chief Executive Officer of DFCC Bank, said,

“DFCC Bank has always walked alongside Sri Lanka’s progress, whether from industry to innovation, or from homes to entrepreneurs.

Through the Faldo Junior Golf Tournament, we are proud to invest in young golfers who have the potential to carry their success onto global fairways.

This is more than sport; it is discipline, confidence and opportunity taking root in each player’s journey.

We feel privileged to uplift their aspirations and to stand with them as they take their next swing towards the future.”

Established in 1996 by the legendary six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo, the Faldo Series continues to be one of the world’s most respected junior golf platforms.

With more than 7,000 participants annually and a footprint spanning over 28 countries, the series has earned a reputation as the premier training ground for developing elite golfing talent.

Its presence in Sri Lanka marks a significant step in positioning the country as an emerging destination for international junior golf.

Captain Gehan Siribaddana of RCGC said,

“The Faldo Series is far more than a tournament.

It is a stage where young golfers test their skills, embrace challenges, and experience the thrill of international competition.

We are proud to host this event once again and grateful for DFCC Bank’s continued support in developing golf and nurturing future champions here in Sri Lanka.”

This collaboration between DFCC Bank and RCGC reflects a shared ambition to identify talent beyond traditional centres and to create pathways for golfers from across the island to shine internationally.
