ComBank fetes Dilip Das Gupta for exemplary service to Bangladesh operations

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently felicitated Mr Dilip Das Gupta, the Senior General Manager of the Bank’s Bangladesh operations, in appreciation of his services.

An eminent banking professional of high standing in Bangladesh, Mr Das Gupta is widely-recognised for his contributions to the development of the industry and has more than 50 years of experience in the Banking industry.


In 2003 he was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit, France’s highest civilian honour, for his outstanding contributions in the field of international banking.


Mr Das Gupta is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Minority Welfare Trust, appointed by the Government of Bangladesh, a member of the National Executive Committee of the ENT & Head Cancer Hospital and Institute of Dhaka and a founder member of two high schools at Anwara, Chittagong.


He also serves as an advisor to the Smoking & Intoxicant Prevention Human Service Association in Dhaka.

Commercial Bank of Ceylon entered Bangladesh in July 2003 with the acquisition of the Bangladesh operations of Credit Agricole Indosuez (CAI), its first ever acquisition of a banking operation.
