DMC launches National Anticipatory Action Roadmap with WFP
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC), with technical leadership from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Sri Lanka and generous funding from the Government of the United States of America, today launched Sri Lanka’s Anticipatory Action (AA) Roadmap for 2026–2030, bringing together government, UN, and humanitarian partners.
The roadmap sets out a coordinated approach to anticipatory action across key sectors.
The Anticipatory Action roadmap strengthens Sri Lanka’s disaster preparedness by advancing impact-based forecasting, early warning systems, and forecast-based financing.
Developed through the National Anticipatory Action Working Group--including DMC, WFP, UN agencies, I/NGOs, civil society, and private sector partners.
It will support timely, early action to reduce disaster risks and better protect vulnerable communities.
