Ovitiyas Group step forward to sponsor warm up kits for St. Joseph's team gearing up for the 21st Uva Battle of the Golds

Ovitiyas Group has stepped in to sponsor the warm up and training kits of the St. Joseph's College, Bandarawela first XI cricket team who are gearing up for the 21st annual Uva Battle of the Golds big match against Bandarawela Central College.

The only annual cricket big match of the Bandarawela region between traditional rivals St. Joseph's College and Bandarawela Central College, will be played on April 24th and 25th at the Municipal Council in Bandarawela, attracting students, old boys and supporters of both teams under carnival atmosphere.

Ovitiyas Group has been involved with the Uva Battle of the Golds for many years, as a sponsor as well as a mentor for both teams in contention and this year they have continued the commitment to support St. Joseph's College first XI team who has a well balanced side.

Gearing up for the annual encounter, St. Joseph's College will be led by fifth year coloursman Sarith Malinda.

Another fifth year coloursman, Sachin Dilanka will be the vice captain of the side with third year coloursman Chalana Randuna as the experienced wicket keeper.

The team comprises Ishan Kavishka, Viboothi Ruwan, Thiwanka Thejan, Chamindu Thejitha, Theekshana Pramodya, Kaveesha Ayanitha, Buuddhitha Dilshan, Ravindu Hasara, Thanusha Nimshara, M.D.P. Madubhashitha, Mohamed Fahid, Shenuka Kalhan, Hiresh Kaushalya and Upeksha Malith.

The side is coached by S.M.B. Chamara while Dulinda Sumathipala acts as the Master in-Charge and Prefect of Games, with the fullest backing of the Principal of St. Joseph's College, S.K.G.S.K. Samaranayaka.
