FHIIT Powers Sri Lanka to Historic First HYROX First Place at Bangalore 2026

Sri Lanka has etched its name into the global fitness arena with a landmark victory at HYROX Bangalore 2026, securing its first-ever first-place medal on a HYROX platform while delivering a powerful multi-podium performance that signals the nation’s rising dominance in functional fitness.

Leading the charge, Yohan Rathnayake and Trevin Reid stormed to 1st place in the Men’s Doubles category, overcoming an intensely competitive field of over 8,200 athletes representing more than 50 countries.

Their victory marks a defining moment for Sri Lanka, establishing a new benchmark for excellence on the international stage.

Adding to the nation’s triumph, Shamara Rahim and Tuwani Wijesundara delivered an equally inspiring performance, clinching second place in the Women’s Doubles category—the first podium finish for Sri Lankan women in a HYROX competition.

Together, these achievements underscore a breakthrough moment for the country, as both men and women stand proudly among the world’s elite.

At the heart of this success is FHIIT, Sri Lanka’s leading HYROX training club, whose athletes competed in their signature bright yellow, turning heads and commanding attention throughout the event.

Known for its performance-driven culture and structured HYROX-focused programming, FHIIT continues to produce athletes capable of competing—and winning—at the highest level.

Speaking following the historic win, Rathnayake reflected on the deeper meaning behind the achievement, “This victory is not ours alone—it is by His grace.

We stayed grounded in faith, trusted the process through every high and low, and found strength beyond ourselves to push through. In moments where the path seemed uncertain, a way was made.”

The triumph in Bangalore is more than a medal haul—it is a statement of intent. With coaches who lead from the front and athletes who embody discipline and resilience, FHIIT has established itself as a proven pipeline for international success.

As the Sri Lankan flag soared high in Bangalore, this historic Gold medal moment signals the beginning of a new chapter—one where Sri Lanka is no longer just participating, but competing to win on the world stage.
