McLarens Lubricants Ltd, the authorized distributor of Mobil lubricants in Sri Lanka and part of the McLarens Group, was proudly recognized at the recently concluded SLADA Championship 2025 Awards Night for its continued commitment to the development of motor sports in the country.
Under the Mobil brand, three prestigious racing categories were presented at the event : Group M Sports Touring up to 700 4T, Group SL-S Up to 3500cc, and Formula McLaren 1300cc EFI.
These categories represent some of the most competitive segments in the Sri Lankan motor racing environment, showcasing performance, endurance, and reliability that Mobil products are renowned for both on and off the track.
In 2025, McLarens Lubricants extended its support beyond the Awards Night by sponsoring key SLADA racing events such as Gunners Super Cross at Minneriya and Gajaba Super Cross at Saliyapura which are widely regarded as two of the premier gravel racing events in Sri Lanka.
These high-intensity races test the limits of both driver skill and machine endurance under extreme terrain conditions.
Through the Mobil brand, McLarens Lubricants played a vital role in supporting these events, reinforcing the importance of using high-performance lubricants that can withstand demanding racing environments.
This involvement not only strengthened the presence of Mobil within Sri Lanka’s racing community but also demonstrated the brand’s direct contribution to enabling competitive, safe, and high-performance motor sports locally.
Mr. Chaminda Gunaratne, Joint Managing Director of McLarens Lubricants Ltd, stated,
“Motor sports has always been closely aligned with the Mobil brand globally, and we are proud to carry that legacy forward in Sri Lanka.
Our continued partnership with SLADA and the racing community reflects our commitment to supporting performance, safety, and the growth of the sport locally.”
This recognition further reinforces Mobil’s legacy in performance engineering and McLarens Lubricants’ commitment to supporting sporting excellence in Sri Lanka.
