Sysco LABS Colleagues Take on IRONMAN 70.3 Colombo Endurance Challenge

Thirteen Sysco LABS colleagues recently competed at IRONMAN 70.3 Colombo 2026 - one of the world's most demanding endurance challenges.

The Sysco LABS contingent included one solo competitor and four relay teams, with all teams successfully completing the race within the official 7 hour 20 minute cut-off time.

IRONMAN - a half-distance triathlon requires participants to complete a 1.9-kilometre swim, 90-kilometre cycle, and 21.1-kilometre run consecutively.

This year’s event held at Colombo Port City, attracted athletes from around the world and tested physical endurance, mental resilience, and strategic pacing across all three disciplines.

Rehan Anthonis, Senior Director – People Operations at Sysco LABS, commented on colleague performance saying,

“Preparing to compete at IRONMAN 70.3 requires a level of discipline and commitment that extends far beyond race day.

Our colleagues dedicated months to early morning training sessions, structured nutrition, and recovery management while continuing to deliver in their roles at the technology centre.

At Sysco LABS, we support our colleagues not only as professionals, but as individuals with passions and personal ambitions.

The perseverance, resilience, and teamwork required to complete an event of this scale closely reflect Sysco’s values—how we show up for one another, push ourselves to grow, and strive for excellence.

These are the behaviours and mindset we encourage our colleagues to pursue and live every day, both within our teams and beyond the workplace.”
