SOS Childrens Villages Sri Lanka collaborates with Barista for 6th consecutive Share A Meal initiative

Barista came together with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka (SOSCVSL) for the 6th consecutive year to launch their annual ‘Share A Meal’ Christmas initiative.

Reaffirming their longstanding collaboration on the 24th of November 2025 at Barista’s Nugegoda diner outlet, the launch celebrated the initiative’s provision of essential care and happiness of children under the protection of SOSCVSL.

Across all 6 years of the initiative, ‘Share A Meal’ has nourished the approximate 750 children under SOSCVSL’s care in all 6 villages island wide.

Embodying seasonal goodwill, the initiative will run from the 1st to the 31st of December 2025, allowing visitors at any Barista outlet across Sri Lanka to provide three nutritious meals per child for a nominal fee through its ‘Share A Meal’ Coupons.

Till boxes located at Barista outlets across Sri Lanka supplement the initiative.

Furthermore, 10% of proceeds of special items ordered from Barista’s Christmas menu amplifies SOSCVSL’s efforts to provide for the children under their care.

Capping off the initiative, Barista offered SOSCVSL’s youth hands-on training and employment exposure through its Youth Internship
Programme.

Speaking about the initiative, Dhananjaya Perera, Deputy National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka said,

“We’re invested in nurturing our children with experiences that bring them happiness and good health.

Our partnership with Barista allows us to bring them moments of Christmas cheer to cherish as they grow.

Furthermore, the initiative demonstrates how positive and impactful change can occur when forces unite for the common good.”

Dilupa Pathirana, Director and Chief Executive Officer, Barista Coffee Lanka (Pvt) Ltd added,

“At Barista, ‘Share A Meal’ has become an important part of our social responsibility efforts, and completing six consecutive years highlights our continued commitment to supporting the communities we serve.

Our partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka allows us to contribute meaningfully to the well-being and development of children and families across the country.

This year, we set a target of raising 5 million rupees to further strengthen the initiative’s reach and impact.

We appreciate the continued support of all stakeholders who helped us advance this mission each year.”
