The MOU outlines a strategic framework for clinical collaboration, emphasising knowledge sharing, advanced speciality care, preventive health initiatives, and continuous professional development.
This partnership is designed to elevate clinical standards in Sri Lanka by introducing global best practices through joint programmes, telemedicine, second-opinion services, and medical education.
The agreement was officially signed and exchanged by Mr. Nishantha Jayamanne, Chief Operating Officer of Medihelp Hospitals Group, and Mr. Jithu Jose, Vice President - International Division of Apollo Hospitals.
Mr Nishantha extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and pointed out the vital importance of these collaborations in light of the escalating disease burden and changing disease patterns.
In his remarks, Mr Jithu Jose stated that “At Apollo Hospitals, we hold a steadfast commitment to the principle that access to high-quality healthcare should transcend geographical boundaries.

As part of the ceremony, a dedicated liver helpline was launched to provide patients with direct access to expert guidance on liver-related health concerns.

A health awareness seminar on Advancements in Liver Transplantation was conducted by Dr Elankumaran K., Head of the Liver Transplant Program at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
During the session, Dr. Elankumaran shared insights from his extensive experience in both adult and paediatric living donor liver transplants, highlighting the integration of advanced technologies, such as robotic-assisted surgery.

The presentation also featured the cutting-edge Globus Robotic Spine System, available at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
The event was graced by Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva, former secretary of the Ministry of Primary Healthcare, Epidemics, and COVID Disease Control; senior consultant physicians; and other doctors.
